Student Leadership Programs
Your personal leadership journey starts here!
We believe that becoming a leader should be informative, meaningful, and exciting! Whether you're a first-year student who would like to start developing a foundation in leadership, someone who wants to gain expertise through leading a group, or a senior who wants to partner with a professional mentor, getting involved with Leadership Programs offers hands-on learning experiences that teach critical leadership skills.
Clubs & Organizations
Get involved to make friends and pursue personal interests — but also to build practical, real-world skills such as communication, problem solving, working in teams, conflict resolution, and more!
The National Society of Leadership and Success
GMercyU is proud to be part of the nation's largest leadership honor society, which offers a "life-changing leadership program that helps students achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact in their communities." NSLS encourages students to make a difference through community action, volunteerism, personal growth, and strong leadership — and offers transformative lectures to help you learn how.
More Leadership Opportunities
Orientation Leader
Be one of the friendly faces who welcomes our brand new Griffins to campus and helps them transition to life at GMercyU. You'll take part in activities that share our culture, traditions, and expectations of the University.
Resident Assistant
Want to help others succeed? Looking to improve your leadership and communication skills while making a difference? This position comes with perks, such as a single room, full room and board waiver, taxable stipend (paid quarterly), and a 10% discount at the Campus Bookstore (not towards books).
Weaving Equity into Leadership
This leadership certificate program is designed to support your role as a student leader in a diverse, Mercy community today — and a culturally competent professional tomorrow. Learn to unpack prejudice, discrimination, and oppression and become a better advocate and ally.
Off-Campus Leadership Conferences
All Griffins are encouraged to attend leadership conferences. In recent years, students have attended the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) Conference and the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) conference, among others.
Interested in a leadership conference? Contact us to see if we can help get you there.
